Baking Bread

You need a hot oven (425-450F) to make a good crust.
A slower oven (375) makes a softer crust for dinner rolls and sandwich bread.
The internal temperature of bread must readh 200-210F for it to be done.
Slash loaf tops to allow steam to vent when cooking (skip for buns and sandwich bread).
Hard Boiled.
To make perfectly boiled eggs with firm-but-tender whites and just-set yolks, start with room-temperature eggs and a saucepan of boiling water. Gently lower the eggs into the water and cook for 8 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath for 5 minutes before peeling.
Worth Your Salt.
A killer seasoned salt is a secret weapon for your pantry. Combine smoked salt, ground black pepper, smoked paprika, English mustard powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and light brown sugar for a blend that adds a hint of smoky bacon flavor to everything from scrambled eggs to grilled peaches.
